Children Cosmetics: The New Growth Point for Overseas Brands

Chinese children cosmetic market is witnessing significant changes and has great potential: - The new regulation Supervision and Administration Provisions on Children Cosmetics will come into force on January 1, 2022. - Overseas brands are flocking to the market through cross-border e-commerce platforms, among which some achieved great results. - Chinese domestic brands are also rising to compete for the blue ocean market.

On October 8, 2021, China National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) released the final version of Supervision and Administration Provisions on Children Cosmetics, which will come into force on January 1, 2022. In this regulation, the government gives a clear definition of children cosmetics: it refers to cosmetics for children aged 12 and under, with the functions of cleansing, moisturizing, body refreshing, sunscreen, etc. For the first time, this promising but chaotic Chinese children cosmetic market has a specific regulation to follow.
