Chinese consumption experienced a noticeable downturn during the challenging times of the Covid-19 pandemic. However, as China reopens, a renewed sense of confidence emerged among consumers, leading to a resurgence of dynamism in the Chinese market. According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the total retail sales of consumer goods from January to May 2023 amounted to 18,763.63 billion yuan, with an increase of 9.3% YoY. It is particularly noteworthy that online retail sales reached 5,690.6 billion yuan, marking an impressive YoY growth of 13.8%. The pandemic has significantly influenced Chinese consumers' online shopping habits, and the online penetration rate is expected to continue its upward trajectory after the pandemic subsides.
Against this backdrop, it becomes crucial to explore the emerging trends in China's e-commerce landscape in the post-pandemic era. It is equally important for brands and retailers to strategically realign themselves to effectively navigate the evolving market dynamics. In this webinar, Davy Huang, the Director of Business Development at Azoya, will provide a comprehensive overview of China’s e-commerce landscape after COVID-19, and share his valuable insights into how to better grow in the ever-changing Chinese market.
